This is one of the most talked about topic on the blogosphere! I'm a huge fan of Mashable, Techcrunch and other big tech sites! I'm just so surprised to find out that from PR 8, they just went down to ZERO! There must be something going on, but, I'm pretty sure that Mashable will just shrug this off! Let me show you more...
If you have a PR 8 website, and it got dropped down to nothing, what would you do? This is what just happened to Mashable.com, one of my favorite tech sites!
As you could see on their Alexa rankings from yesterday, they went down at -28%... We don't know if BIG G is cooking up something, it might be part of a new Google Algorithm update. What's the moral lesson? Some people say that PR is useless, and has no bearing at all. But, as you could notice, sudden PR drop can also drop the site visit. Take a look at another screenshot below, I just took it a couple of minutes ago...
I've asked SEO experts about this, they said that it could be just a PR bug or something, since, other pages are still on PR 6. It's either their link partners stop linking back to them, which gives them the most PR / Link juice, or, their backlinks got devalued by Google, it could be part of an algorithm update. But, who cares? Mashable is still an authority site. If someone needs to search for Mashable, they don't use keywords anymore to get to the site. People remember Mashable as it is! So, for my fellow Mashable fans out there, I guess, we have nothing to worry for the mean time! Until next time, if you like this post, please, subscribe below. Thanks!

wow even their alexa rankings dropped. so sad!
I hope mashable recovers in the next update. It must be some sort of mistake
i keep on thinking how come it happened? Mashable is already a "haligi" and i do visit it frequently too :(
it might be just a simple bug. Would you believe my site went up to PR7 for one day, went back to pr 3. Natawa lang talaga ako haha. atleast for a few hours naexperience ko maging pr 7 hahaha
Pete Cashmore: it's ok, we don't need google PR to be popular! ^^
hahah
@Bino -Don't be sad, I checked their site, it's back at PR 8, woot! =)
@stacy -You're probably right, it could be just a glitch! Thanks for dropping by! =)
@joy -There's nothing to worry now, they're back at PR 8, maybe, it was just a glitch on the Search Engine's algorihtm, or an update... =)
@chino -Yep, it could be just a bug. They are now soaring high again! Thanks for visiting! =)
@Bon -Akala ko binisita na talaga ako ni Pete Cashmore 'eh, hehehe! =P
now as i comment it is PR 8.....check ko kasi...
Di ba kapag low PR few visitors din everyday.
@Arvin U. de la Peña - Yep, PR 8 na nga sila, thanks for dropping by! =)
@Henry -To answer your question, not really. You could have low PR, but, you can still have lots of visitors. But, in this case, when Mashable's PR dropped all of a sudden, their site visits went down as well, based on Alexa. Since, we don't have their previous statistics, we can't really benchmark how many links they have and what really happened. Perhaps, it was really just a glitch... =)
Haha I laughed at the attempt to mimic what Pete would say. Pete Cashmore alone is popular. Maybe you should an update at the bottom at their sexaaaay PR is baaaack :)
There is a big search engine challenge lies ahead on mashable, anyway this website is popular and has many users, it doesn't matter if it has zero page rank.
It might be a bug. Good to hear that mashable returned to its normal PR :)
Oh. Baka nag ka error lang yan;pero di na importante ang PR ngayun. hehe. They're nothing but mere number.:-)
