HOW TO AVOID MAC DEFENDER, MAC PROTECTOR, MAC SECURITY MALWARE ON MAC OS X 10.4, MAC OS X 10.5, MAC OS X 10.6?

Yep, you read that right. Apple's MAC OS X versions are now being a little bit vulnerable when it comes to Malwares. There's a new MALWARE type program that is targeting Apple Computers running on MAC OS X. It is previously identified as MAC DEFENDER, then, updated versions are MAC SECURITY and MAC PROTECTOR. This brings privacy and security threat to MAC OS X users. Although, it doesn't really bring HIGH threat, it is still annoying, especially, if you're a MAC OS X user. Let's find out HOW WE COULD AVOID MAC DEFENDER, MAC PROTECTOR OR MAC SECURITY...





HOW TO AVOID MAC DEFENDER, MAC PROTECTOR, MAC SECURITY MALWARE ON MAC OS X 10.4, MAC OS X 10.5, MAC OS X 10.6?


Since, we are talking about MALWARE, Do you know what it means?! MALWARE means MALICIOUS SOFTWARE. It is not really a VIRUS, that could spread undetected and self-propagate. That means, If you got infected with MALWARE, you probably clicked on something - like a web or image link, or downloaded a malware infected program, this allows the MALWARE to enter your computer operating system. MALWARE can't launch itself undetected, and usually, it requires user interaction. Most MALWARE are intended for Phishing -It's another type of Internet Scam that is designed to steal Personal Account Information, Credit Cards Information and many more. There are pretty simple steps that we can follow to AVOID MALWARE INFECTION.



HOW DID I GET MAC DEFENDER, MAC SECURITY, or MAC PROTECTOR MALWARE?!

You could get MAC DEFENDER MALWARE, MAC SECURITY MALWARE OR MAC PROTECTOR MALWARE infection, If you click on a certain web or image link, usually, sites that offers fake Free-Scan. It will automatically downloads the malware. These MALWARE disguised as an Internet Security or Anti-Virus program that offers to detect and remove non-existent virus threats. Once your browser downloads it, it will ask you to Install it, so, DO NOT CLICK ON INSTALL!


On the latest version of Mac Defender or Mac Protector Malware, the screen of MAC SECURITY MALWARE looks like the pictures below:


As you could notice, it shows that the License type is Unregistered. If you click on it, It will prompt you for your Account information, like Fist and Last name, Date of Birth, Credit Card number and Expiration date. So, don't be stupid, NEVER give out your Personal Account Information, don't click on CLEAN UP or REGISTER.




HOW TO AVOID INSTALLING MAC DEFENDER, MAC SECURITY, or MAC PROTECTOR MALWARE?


NOTE: Most browsers are set to automatically download, run or open these files, this gives the MAC DEFENDER MALWARE, MAC SECURITY MALWARE OR MAC PROTECTOR MALWARE the chance to launch itself, without further user interaction. If that happens, quit your Browser (Example: Safari, Firefox and Etc.). Or, cancel the installation. But, If you are being prompted for a username and password, NEVER enter your Admin username and password. This will help you to AVOID INSTALLING THE MAC DEFENDER, MAC SECURITY OR MAC PROTECTOR MALWARE. Or, you can follow the 3 easy steps below:

Step 1: Proceed into the Downloads folder or your preferred download location
Step 2: Just Drag and Drop the installer to the Trash
Step 3: Then, Empty the Trash

NOTE: Just incase that you can't quit the program and it keeps on popping up. Try to FORCE QUIT the MAC DEFENDER MALWAREMAC SECURITY MALWARE OR MAC PROTECTOR MALWARE. You can follow the steps below:


HOW TO FORCE QUIT THE MAC DEFENDER MALWARE, MAC SECURITY MALWARE OR MAC PROTECTOR MALWARE?

Step 1: Choose Apple menu icon, then select Force Quit, select the MAC DEFENDER, MAC PROTECTOR or MAC SECURITY MALWARE in the list, and click Force Quit.
Step 2: The, Hold down the Command and Option keys and press Esc. Then select the application in the list and click Force Quit.
Step 3: After that, make sure that you Hold down the Option key and press the application icon in the Dock.

These are just simple - manual step by step instructions that we could follow to  AVOID INSTALLING THE MAC DEFENDER, MAC SECURITY OR MAC PROTECTOR MALWARE.
