YES, you are right! KOBE BRYANT was fined $100,000 by the NBA Commissioner David Stern, during the heat of the game, after Kobe cursed referee Bennie Adams. During the 3rd Quarter of L.A. Lakers' win over the Spurs, referee Bennie called a technical foul on Kobe Bryant in the game... You could clearly see it on the VIDEO...
NBA Commissioner David Stern immediately fined Mr. Kobe Bryant after he used Gay Slur against the referee. Stern said that, "While I am fully aware that Basketball is an emotional game, such a distasteful term should never be tolerated..." During the Interview, Kobe Bryant said, "What I said last night should not be taken literally. My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone." KOBE BRYANT $100,000 FINE, was given by Stern, as his disciplinary action for the gay slur.After what happened, Jarrett Barrios, the president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, said "Gay or Lesbian slurs are really unacceptable." And, also on the news, Gay and Lesbian Rights Advocate praised Mr. David Stern for recognizing the slurs and derogatory comments of Mr. Kobe Bryant. Gay and Lesbian groups wants more thorough apology from both the Lakers Team and Kobe Bryant.
