GOODBYE PETER, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

I am in deep sorrow right now as I write this article. This is about our dog named Peter, who passed away this afternoon. It really caused sadness in our family, since, he was a very loving dog. Peter became part of our family. This is a tribute to our loving pet, to my bestfriend and to our faithful servant! I know, not all of you are dog lovers. So, don't read this If you don't feel reading it. This is just a short story of our loving dog, Peter...

GOODBYE PETER, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

In the year of 2000, in the first week of June, my bestfriend Louie told me that his dog named "Chu-Chu" gave birth to 5 pups; and he would give me a puppy. I was very excited, and I said that I would wait a couple more days. I actually took peter just after a week. Louie warned me not to adopt Peter yet, because, he was just a week old and might die. But, I was so eager and excited, and I still brought Peter home. I bought some medicine dropper, "Anlene Milk" (a much expensive Milk brand here in the Philippines), and feeding bottles. I am not sure If it was just a coincidence, because, the other siblings of Peter died just a few weeks after, then, after another week, Peter's mom also died...

For more than 2 weeks, I had to feed Peter with milk, using a medicine dropper. Then, after 3 weeks, I was able to give him milk using a feeding bottle. He enjoyed the milk I prepared for him because, I always made sure that it was creamy and sweet enough. I even wake up in the middle of the night just to give him milk and pamper him when he was crying. And of course, I was the one who took care of his poop's and pee's on the floor. He grew up and became a playful and adorable puppy. I actually had to discipline him only once, when he chewed my newly bought Nokia 3310 cellphone. He grew up strong, and became, a rodent-killer! It's very nice to remember, how loving and caring this dog.. He guarded our house like a professional K-9 dog, and spent most of his time awake at night, looking for thieves or rats...

In the year of 2008, after I got married, I had to separate from my family and leave Peter with my dad and siblings. My family took care of him pretty good. In the month of February, a couple of years ago. When our house gate was left open, Peter saw the opportunity. He escaped from the house, and he was gone for a couple of hours. We started calling and yelling his name in the streets around our neighborhood. But, there was no sign of Peter. I went upstairs and started looking for Peter in the terrace. When, I saw Peter running towards our gate, I saw a beautiful female dog next to him. I was very surprised! Because, when my brother opened the gate, Peter went in, as well as, the other female dog. We didn't force the strange female dog to come in, but, she came in right after Peter. We found it very exciting, because, It was the 13th of February, the next day would be the Heart's Day. We fed them with food and milk. We tried to get the female dog out of our house after that, thinking that her master's might also be looking for her. We opened the gate and tried calling her, but, even Peter who loves to escape and go out, didn't leave the house anymore. They spent days in the house, while we are looking for people who might be looking for a missing dog. After a couple of weeks, no one looked after the strange dog. So, we decided to keep her, instead of calling the Dog Found. We named the female dog, "Lukring". Peter and Lukring, fell very much in-love with each other. They brought us puppies. And, we kept one of the female puppy and named her "Ericka". After a couple of years, when Lukring gave birth again, with unknown reason, she suddenly collapsed and died instantly... Peter became, very sad and lost appetite. But, after a couple of weeks, he regained his appetite. And perhaps, he had noticed how beautiful Ericka is. Peter and Ericka then, became lovers! They gave us cute puppies, and became, a loyal and faithful servant to our family.

Peter got very sick lately. My mom sent me an sms 3days ago, and she said that Peter keeps on vomiting and do not want to eat or even drink water, for almost 2 days. They thought that It was just a simple appetite lost or Peter might have just eaten some grass...

I called my brother immediately, and asked him to rush Peter to the vet clinic. After giving Peter some anti-biotic, vitamins and dextrose in the vet clinic. They analyzed Peter's blood and thoroughly checked for possible diseases. They left Peter in the clinic, very weak... But, still hoping that he would still survive. And, just this afternoon. We were in shock, because, the Doctor called my mom, and told us about what happened to our loving dog... Peter died due to multiple organ failure and anemia. We took his body out of the clinic and put him in our backyard. It is just so sad, that we sometimes don't see the importance of our pets until they are gone. I know that due to my work and since I am now far from our family, I have my shortcomings. I just want to thank the Lord for the wonderful and loving pet He gave us. From the bottom of our hearts, we will never forget this dog...  WE WILL MISS YOU, PETER! And, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!

@Glenn -Tnx B, It was his time, siguro ok na rin, kaysa naghirap pa ang aso natin. Peter will never be forgotten! Pls., tell jem to play with Ericka, baka naman ma depressed yun sa pagkawala ni Peter, tnx! God bless!

@I Love-Hate America -Hello, Bing! Thank you so much for dropping by, and reading my dog's story. Very few people would understand how I feel right now, since, they treat dogs just like any other animals. For me, dog's are man's bestfriend. I am a full grown-up man, but, I still cried. Because,I grew up with Peter, and it's not just easy for me to accept the fact that he is now gone. Tnx for your time. God bless!

@Khantotantra -Oo, meron silang namuong love story... He was almost 11 years old when he died. Tnx for appreciating this post. Take care!

I remember when I feel sad our dog Molly would also feel sad, and feel happy when I feel happy. that's why, "All dogs go to heaven," as the movie goes.:-)

As other people say, hayop lang sila. But, this dog had been with us for more than 10 years! Peter deserves to be remembered, that's why I wrote this article just for him. Kaya labis naming ikinalungkot ang pagkawala niya... Tnx for dropping by! =)

@Myles -Oo, taga CVG ako, hehehe! Nuon pa kita gusto i approach, kaso nahihiya lang ako, hehehe... Myles, getting a dog is very good idea, especially, If you find yourself a little exhausted in everything. Dogs are man's bestfriend! I would suggest that you get a toy dog, small breed's like mini pinscher, mini-cup chihuahua or shitzu. By the way, I went back to your site, and when I was about to publish my comment, unfortunately, when it gives me the Anti-Spam Code for verification, the bar where you have to put in the code could not be seen. I think, the template is not showing the whole window for the verification. You might need to adjust it a little bit. I've already added your sites: CALL CENTER GIRL, MIMILANIE'S CORNER, ONLINE JOB PINOY, PINAY BLOG EARNER, and WORLD OF EMOTERA! Cheers! =)

@marga -Good Morning! Yep, I just went to your site, nakakagutom naman yung Cheese Bread, hehehe! Tnx for dropping by! =)
