JAPAN NUCLEAR RADIATION LEAK UPDATES

All over the news and internet, you would hear and see the rapidly evolving crisis in Fukushima, Japan. How far would this really go? It seems like the situation is getting worse and worse. There are videos and images of helicopter's dropping sea-water on the Fukishima Power Plants and residents leaving Japan as the Nuclear Radiation Leak started to rise...

JAPAN NUCLEAR RADIATION LEAK UPDATES

Few days ago, we have received SMS or text messages from the concerned family and relatives about the effects of Nuclear Radiation leak in JAPAN. If you are not watching news, you will really get scared. Text messages goes like this, "Japan Government confirms radiation leak at the Fukushima nuclear plants. Asian countries should take necessary precautions. Remain indoors first 24 hours. Close all the doors and windows. Swab the neck skin with Betadine where thyroid area is, radiation hits thyroid first. Take extra precaution, radiation may hit the Philippines starting 4pm today"... Finally, the Philippines government clarified the issue and said that there's nothing to worry, and people should not panic, because, there's no truth to the alarming text messages. I can't really understand and I asked myself, what will these people get from scaring others. Anyway, I just admire the Japanese people for being united and strong despite of the crisis in their country...

My Aunt Jocelyn is still in Tokyo, Japan. I've sent her text messages and tried calling her, but, I've got no reply. Perhaps, there are still interval power interruptions as the power supply decreases, as what she told me few days ago. Aside from the very frequent aftershock. And, now, it seems that even communication is being affected. Food, water and shelter are the basic things that people need to survive, but, would the supply in Japan last until the issue is resolved? I can't help myself not to worry, not just for my aunt or for my fellow Filipino people. But, also for the residents in Japan. Scientists and Medical Expert says that although the radiation level is increasing, there are no human health issue should be concerned about. Here are some of the videos I found on youtube.com:

The exclusion zone is 12 miles or 20 kilometers around the Nuclear power plants. And, people all over the area are being advised to just stay home or indoors. But, what will happen If they couldn't fix it? I don't want to sound pessimistic, but, we are talking about human lives here! Thousands have already died, and I don't really feel comfortable seeing the situation in JAPAN. I have no clue how nuclear power plants work, but If they can't fix it, can they just shut it down? Well, I just really hope that everything works together for the good of everyone.

UPDATE: 04/2/2011 -According to CNN, there are around 25,000 people confirmed dead. My Aunt Jocelyn got safely back here in the Philippines.

Ako rin nakatanggap din na mga hoax messages. Kelangan talag rin updated tau lagi s mga news, at alamin kung alin ang totoo at hindi. Grabe talaga tong nangyari sa Japan, nakaka panic at nakakatakot. Pero based on the majority of reliable news, safe nman daw ngayun so far, na lessen na yung leaks. pati tayo s Pinas safe na rin. Matatapos din ang crisis s Japan, as sana d na maulit pa;sana mag silbi na leksyon to s mga Japanese at s mga countries na dependent s Nucelar power Plant tulad ng France.

@Daphne -Hi! J.M. is fine, as long as my link is there! Hehehe! I truly agree, according to CNN, there's around 7,000 bodies have been recovered, and still counting... But, I really admire them for being so brave, united and disciplined, despite of the chaotic and horrifying disaster that they have to endure. I believe JAPAN could stand up, with GOD's grace and mercy, with the Prayers of everyone, nothing is impossible to the LORD!

@Lulu -Tnx for visiting, just got home from work. Oo, this is really horrifying, what's happening nowadays looks like the same thing we see on movies, but this is not entertaining at all! Let's pray for one another! God bless!

@csseyah -Based on the news I've seen so far, patuloy pa rin binobomba ng mga water cannon, to prevent the nuclear plants from leaking again... There are now more than 8,000 people confirmed dead... =(

Good Filipino said...

lulu said...

@Nonoy -Good Afternoon, Nonoy! Daan lang ng daan, libre! May kasama pang YELO! Hehehe! =)

@glentot -It's really horrifying, we could now also hear the echoes of war and chaos in other countries! I think it's a sign, the END could be near...
