I am a Call Center agent and I really hate to see things like this. Especially, if the said issue is coming from our country, in the Philippines. Call Center Industry in the Philippines, is one of the biggest and highest paying industry in our country. Many people until now aspire to get into this kind of job. Some people think that it's so difficult to get in, and others, think that it's just an easy job. Many people are really clueless when it comes to a Call Center work. Being in the Call Center Industry for about 6 years now, it made me realize that we are still lucky to have this kind of work opportunity. It doesn't just support us in our daily lives, but, also it helps our government. Call Center Industry is a huge source of income for our Philippine government. Despite of the recent global financial crisis, our country is still lucky to have a strong Call Center Industry...

CALL CENTER SCANDALS IN THE PHILIPPINES

I was browsing some videos on youtube earlier; when I came across with this old phone recorded conversation in a local Call Center here in the Philippines. I was just a bit disturbed, how did this happen. And, why did they let this lady talk in rage for around 10 minutes long. Each specific Account or Call Center implements different rules when dealing with irate callers. But, this one wasn't just irate, this one is a very abusive, crazy lady! And, the other recorded phone conversation was all about a customer of a local Internet Service Provider. All conversations are in Tagalog (a native language of Filipinos). DEAR INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER CUSTOMERS

I decided to write this post, because, I don't know how much longer I could still take my job as a Technical Support Representative. I've been on this job for the past 5 years now, and counting. We are giving Technical support for International / U.S. based Internet Service Provider. Due to some security concerns, I can't tell you the name of our account. And, I guess, it's not really important, since, what I am gonna tell you is not just happening in our company. We have talked to the nicest people in the planet. And also, we have encountered the worst customers you could ever imagine. We have been insulted, cursed and accused for the things that we didn't do or some concerns that are out of our hands. This article is just my rants, no one force you to read it. So, read at your own risk! Yes, it is part of our job, and we can't really complaint. I am writing this Open Letter to ISP (Internet Service Provider) Customers. There are things that you should know! PLEASE, READ IT!

RUDE TECHNICAL SUPPORT AGENTS IN THE PHILIPPINES


The reality is, we can't really choose who we will get every time we need to call our Internet Service Provider Technical Support Hotline. I am also a customer, and I understand how difficult it is not to have my Internet working and get a rude agent on the phone at the same time. Have you ever called Technical Support, and your call were being routed to somewhere in India, Philippines or other countries? You might be wondering what we are dealing with each day... Here in the Philippines, most Filipino's think that working in a Call Center is an easy money. I have heard from clueless relatives and friends that they also want to work in a Call Center, because, it's a very easy and lucrative job. They thought that you just have to sit back and relax in an air-conditioned workplace, do the talking and earn lots of money...  Sometimes, I just want to slap their face and wake them up! It doesn't mean you can speak excellent English, you already have what it takes. Here are the things that you might want to consider, before applying in a Call Center.
